Airpedic™ Mattresses

How does an Airpedic mattress help provide lumbar support?

An Airpedic™ mattress enhances lumbar support with its multi-zone air chamber technology, allowing precise firmness and support adjustments in the lower back area to promote spinal alignment and help alleviate back pain.

How does Airpedic's multi-zone system differ from regular 2-zone air beds?

Airpedic's™ advanced design allows for precise control over different areas of the mattress, enabling you to tailor the firmness level for the upper body, lumbar region, and legs independently. This ensures a more ergonomic sleep posture and effective relief from pressure points, significantly enhancing sleep quality and comfort compared to conventional 2-zone systems.

Can Airpedic mattresses be used on adjustable beds?

Yes, all Airpedic™ mattresses are compatible with adjustable beds. They're designed with a unique notched railing system to flex and contour perfectly to adjustable bed frames, enhancing your sleep experience with versatile positioning.

Sleeping on an Airpedic™

Will I feel the separate partitions between each of the zones?

No, our Airpedic™ mattresses are designed with a unique system that integrates zones without creating noticeable separations, ensuring smooth and consistent support throughout.

Will I feel a difference in the middle of the mattress compared to each side when I roll over?

No, our Airpedic™ mattresses feature seamless center support and edge-to-edge comfort layers for a uniform feel across the entire surface, eliminating dips, valleys, or center humps.

Is the pump on the Airpedic mattress quiet, and does it activate unexpectedly at night?

The pump features advanced sound dampening for ultra-quiet operation, ensuring a disturbance-free night. It includes a one-second delay to prevent accidental activation and maintains air pressure reliably, eliminating frequent adjustments. Unlike some competitors, Airpedic™ opts for consistent comfort overnight, avoiding adjustments that could disrupt deep sleep stages.

Does the Airpedic 1100 feel like a foam or traditional pillow-top mattress?

The Airpedic™ 1100 offers the classic comfort of a traditional pillow-top but elevates the experience with its unique design. It combines the responsiveness of springy layers with the added benefit of flex-support memory foam, minimizing motion transfer while delivering unparalleled, cloud-like comfort not typically found in standard pillow-top mattresses.

Airflow Transfer System

Does the Airpedic's patented Airflow Transfer System enhance cooling more effectively than other foam mattresses?

Absolutely! Our unique Airflow Transfer System is engineered to actively move body heat away while promoting the circulation of cooler air within the mattress. Unlike other mattresses that may offer superficial ventilation without true under-layer airflow, our system ensures complete circulation. It combines surface holes with underlying channels, facilitating full airflow and superior cooling. This dual approach outperforms high-density memory foams that typically lack breathability, setting our system apart with unmatched cooling efficiency.

Can you feel the Airflow System's pincore holes when lying on the mattress?

No, the pincore holes in the Airflow Transfer System are imperceptible when you lie on the mattress. The foam's softness and the holes' small size ensure a smooth and seamless feel. Even with your hands, the mattress remains smooth under the cover, offering a silky and supportive sleeping surface without any noticeable texture from the holes.

Do the Airflow Transfer System's small holes compromise the foam's durability?

No, the holes are strategically placed an inch apart, ensuring the foam's structural integrity remains intact. The foam's compression strength and longevity are unaffected by these holes. Instead, the enhanced ventilation they provide can extend the foam's life by mitigating heat and perspiration, known detractors of foam durability.

Materials & Craftsmanship

I heard that your competitor's warranties do not cover the foam in the mattress itself. Does Airpedic's warranty cover the foam?

Yes, our beds are built to last and come with our 20-year limited warranty including coverage for the foam layers. See our warranty page for more details.

I have heard that some airbeds can form mildew or mold inside the mattress. What is the reason for this, and is it a concern with an Airpedic mattress?

Airpedic™ uses 100% urethane chambers, inherently resistant to bacteria, and mold, without adding chemicals. Some competitors may use natural rubber chambers that can develop cracks over time, creating environments where mold and mildew result from moisture trapped within the mattress.

What kind of foam is used in the Airpedic beds?

Our foam is fully CertiPUR-US® certified, ensuring low VOC emissions and eco-friendly qualities. Made in the USA from high-density materials, it’s backed by a full 20-year warranty.

Is there a risk of air leaking from the mattress chambers?

No need to worry—Airpedic™ utilizes 15 mil thick, durable 100% urethane walls, superior to rubber and vinyl. Our RF welding creates air-tight seams, supporting our 20-year industry-leading warranty.

How are Airpedic’s chambers more flexible than others, when many types of urethane and rubber chambers can be rigid?

Airpedic™ achieves flexibility in its chambers by utilizing high-quality, thick 100% Urethane, eliminating the need for inflexible nylon coatings. This design choice allows the chambers to adapt to your weight, offering a more forgiving and comfortable sleep surface that avoids the common issue of bottoming out found in less flexible systems.
